With its telltale triple stripes, global sneaker icon Adidas is known the world over. But to promote awareness of its Era line, they were ready to step out into the unknown, with a hyper-local storefront pop-up at the Abbot Kinney Festival in Venice, CA.

To capture the spirit of Adidas and those who wear them, we partnered with Varsity Los Angeles to curate vintage fashion and with wood designer WakaWaka, whose larger-than-life lifeguard chair created an only-in-Venice photo.

The event also showcased video, photography, and a limited-edition lookbook zine featuring the Compton Cowboys, African-American horseback riders challenging stereotypes and embodying the spirit of the Adidas Era: messing with the past to create the future.
